MCBS Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey
Register for MCBS Methods Seminar at the 2013 Academy Health Annual Research Meeting. June 22, 2013. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is pleased to announce an opportunity for researchers and analysts to learn more about Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS) methods and analysis. CMS will be sponsoring a Health Services Research seminar at the 2013 Academy Health Annual Research Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland entitled, “Special Topics in Survey Research Methods using the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey.” This seminar will be led by key MCBS staff.
This workshop will provide a brief overview of the MCBS’ complex sample design, content, administration and production of the MCBS, followed by key insights and recommendations for the types of research and analysis best suited for each of the MCBS’ two research files: Access to Care and Cost and Use. The majority of time in this workshop will then be spent providing in-depth discussion and instruction on various MCBS methodological topics, such as appropriate use of weights, variance estimation, cross-sectional, longitudinal and other types of analysis using MCBS, etc.
