Hospitals and health contributors “fobbed off” sufferers who complain, in accordance to persons surveyed by an independent watchdog.
Healthwatch Dorset canvassed 150 sufferers who utilized various sites, involving the Dorset County Hospital.
In accordance to the survey, 70 percent of persons who made complaints never met anyone to discuss their anxiety and stress.
One of Dorset’s hospital trusts claimed that it is continually approaching ways to make better the complaints processes.
The report claimed 59 percent of complainants stated they did not feel their complaint had been managed properly.
A sufferer of Dorset County Hospital stated: “Because of the complaint I have felt difficult to sustain up treatment.
“My condition still sustains and I never self-medicate, although I don’t know if my situation deteriorates what I’ll do. The process was a travesty.”
A spokesperson for Dorset County Hospital stated: “We acknowledge getting responses about our services so that we can continually make betterment.
“We would like to assure Healthwatch and our sufferers, staff, carers and peoplc that we’ll utilize the suggestions in the report to make service more better.”
One complainant to the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust stated: “The investigating manager elected did not inform me when the inquiry was delayed. The feedback did not answer all my complaints. I was fobbed off.”
Chairwoman of Healthwatch Dorset Joyce Guest stated: “Several persons informed us they felt that their complaints were yet not resolved, not handled well and they were not certain if things would get better.
“We look forward to continuing to work closely with our regional NHS, to make definite that every individual gets the standard of service that they not just deserve but have a right to hope.”
